August 22, 2009 – Bhagavan Gifts Ganesha Idols

The festival of Ganesha Chaturthi had arrived and so had the Ganesha idols. Every year, Swami presents these idols to His various institutions for worship and immersion. The idols had been lined up in a semi circular array in front of the Yajur Mandir entrance.

Shortly after the bhajans began, Swami came out of His residence. Seeing the idols lined up, He seemed pleasantly surprised! He moved around the arc and closely looked at each of the statues.

He allotted them to be sent to various institutions and He took His time to make the selections. When He was satisfied that all was well, He blessed the research scholars who had come and sprinkled on them holy akshatha grains. Then He moved into Sai Kulwant Hall for the darshan rounds.

He completed the darshan rounds and that also included a round of the Mandir portico. Near the bhajan group area, the students showed a card to Swami seeking permission to put up a programme the next day, that is, the day of Ganesh Chaturthi.

He arrived on stage and the bhajans were on. He called a couple of students to the stage and spoke to them. He enquired from the students once again as to whether the next day they would be singing in triplets.

After a while, He called one of the staff members working in the Administrative block. Pointing to the chain on his neck, He asked whether it was a silver one. He replied that it had been gifted by Swami many years ago. Swami then said, "Take gold now!" and waving His palm, materialized a beautiful gold chain with a rectangular pendant. He put it around his neck and patting him, sent him back to his seat. After some more bhajans, He received aarthi and retired for the day.
