A king once decided to organize a yajna for 11 days. For that, he needed large amounts of milk, rice, sugar, curds, honey, cloth, etc. The people of the kingdom were not well off. They were barely able to make ends meet. But, the king announced that everyone would have to contribute to the offerings because he was organizing the yajna for the prosperity of all the people of the kingdom. Each household would have to contribute at least two kilograms of offerings every day .More>>

Ganesha Sarvesha

As part of Bhagawan's 75th Birthday celebrations, Prashanti Nilayam was the chosen venue of a unique exhibition on Lord Ganesha.  This creative labour of love by a group of devotees from Bangalore coincided with the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration held here in September 2000. This presentation had statues of 751 Ganeshas and it had replicas of Lord Ganesha idols from all over the world; the main figure being that of a Lord Ganesha in the form of Shirdi Sai Baba. There was also another huge statue of Ganapathi within which were 75 small models of Ganesha depicting the life story of this fascinating form of the Lord. More>>

108 silver Bilva leaves (Aegle marmelos is the botanical name of the sacred plant Bilva or Stone Apple) and 108 golden flowers fell from His hand in a clinking shower. The fortunate devotees standing nearby were stunned. They then reverentially touched these mysterious manifestations. And after this Baba poured these leaves of silver and flowers of gold on the 3 feet high lingam. Thus revitalising this holiest of shrines.
