PICTURING HIS MESSAGE

On March 21, 2010 a H2H reader from Poland who is currently in the USA, Mrs. Elzbieta Garwacka-Goralik, sent us this heartfelt mail:

Thank you for editing mine and my husband’s favorite ‘Radio Sai’ website (h2hsai.org). This is really Swami’s flute for our souls. We treasure all your stories relating to Sai devotees; each of these is unique and remarkable. When we read the articles from H2H, we feel closer to Swami and our hearts fill with love.

Last summer (2009), I visited Swami for the fifth time in Prasanthi Nilayam. I am from Poland and therefore came with Polish devotees. In 2006, after my marriage I moved to Chicago, USA. My new Sai brothers and sisters from the ‘Chicago Metro’ Sai center as well as from ‘US Region 5’ planned a pilgrimage to Sai that year. In the morning of July 4, Swami gave us - the whole US group - the chance to lead bhajans in Prasanthi Nilayam. Seated in front of the Mandir with our instruments, we sang bhajans and devotional songs in English, Telugu, Sanskrit and Spanish.

Even though Swami was not with us physically, we felt His presence. That day was the American Independence Day, and while Americans celebrate it with parades, fireworks, etc., Swami gave me and my American husband (who is truly His gift to me) the opportunity to celebrate our American Independence Day in Prasanthi Nilayam in the best manner possible – we spent the day singing for Him.

The next day, July 5 2009, Swami gave an incredible chance of an interview with Him in the Mandir to some of us from the group; many members had infact left for USA. This was completely unexpected. Swami has His own ways.

It was my first interview with Swami. Long ago, I had dreamt about this as well as having a picture with Swami. After so many years, I had almost forgotten about this and in fact lost all hope. But that day I had the chance to talk with Swami. I touched His feet and He touched my forehead. And later, I received not one but many most precious pictures with Him. Baba is my source of hope for the better future of the World. With His grace, I would like to be a small part of His mission.

Baba’s words are very important for me; I feel them as my own. I like to visualize some of His sayings in the form of drawings. I think this may be useful to many, especially children. Young hearts respond better to pictures than words.

That is why, by His inspiration, I have created a few of what I call ‘Sai-Cartoons’. I hope my Seva will be useful to others. Swami’s mission is my mission too.
