Consider as unimportant the evil that others do to you, the losses they inflict on you, and the hatred they evince towards you. Treat these with indifference. That is to say that you must develop that degree of patience and fortitude. This is not a helpless putting up with the evil that others do because you are powerless to retaliate; it is rather the expression of the peace that reigns in your heart.
