Every individual should be the master of their behaviour; he/she should not be led away by the impulse of the moment; one must be conscious always of what is good for him/her. You should so carry your daily tasks that you do not make others suffer or suffer yourself. That is the sign of intelligent living. You should not give way to fits of anger or grief, elation or despair... Be Saatwik, calm, unruffled and collected. The more you develop charity for all beings, contrition at your own faults, fear of wrong and fear of God - the more firmly established you are in Shanti (peace).
- Divine Discourse, February 27, 1961.
