The Sathya Sai School of Canada and several thousand of its friends are busy gearing up for the coolest event of the year in the city of Toronto - the sixth annual Walk for Values scheduled 10 AM, Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Yonge-Dundas Square in downtown Toronto. The uniqueness of the Walk for Values lies in the fact that all pledges from its participants are sought in the currency of pure Łove. It is neither a fundraiser nor a solicitation for monetary pledges. It is open to everyone who believes in celebrating life and global affirmations such as Truth, Peace, Right Conduct, Non-violence, Love.
Started in 2003, Walk for Values seeks pledges of self-transformation from its participants, encouraging them to intensify their practice of a human value of their own choice. The universality of its vision has appealed to caring Canadians across 9 cities who are all participating in the local chapters of this walk. It has also acquired international fame with Australia and the United States of America starting their own walkathons along the same theme. At a promotional event held in Toronto yesterday, the school choir captured the hearts of many fellow Canadians and the Toronto media, with their loving invitation to join them to promote more kindness, caring, selflessness, consideration and such values in the society this coming Sunday.
