The effulgence of Divinity can be seen when the six qualities of enthusiasm, dynamism, intellect, energy, courage, and valour shine in a person. Bhoga (craving for sensual pleasures) and tyaga (the spirit of sacrifice) cannot ever co-exist. Bhoga will not allow tyaga to come anywhere near, while tyaga would strongly resist bhoga. One might wonder, "Is it possible to sacrifice, and yet be happy?" The answer is, "Yes, it is possible". If ego is effaced and there are no expectations of reward for the actions performed, sacrifice itself becomes a joyous experience; happiness and sacrifice then merge into one. Happiness is not the property of any particular individual; all are entitled to it, and everyone has the right to enjoy it. To receive your share, you must sanctify your life by serving society, using the gifts God has endowed you with.

WITNESS THE MELTDOWN IN TORONTO DOWNTOWN LIVE!

May 25, 2008

On Sunday, May 25, 2008 the world can watch Toronto singing, talking, walking and marching the Values bandwagon live as the city celebrates the 6th annual Walk for Values from 10 AM to 1:30 PM EST at the Yonge-Dundas Square in the heart of its business district.  Your virtual participation is possible due to the live webstreaming available at www.walkforvalues.com

Born in Toronto in 2003, the Sathya Sai School of Canada's unique community outreach initiative, the Walk for Values celebrates universal human values and urges its participants to practice them with greater sincerity as the effective tool to solve social evils.  Its universal appeal lies in that it does not solicit any monetary pledges nor does it raise money for any cause.  Enthusiastic participants walk in the name Love, Peace, Truth, Non-violence, Right Conduct and the many sub-values that are derived from these five fundamental human values. Participation is open to all and registration is free.

Within six years, its fame has spread worldwide.  This year 9 Canadian cities are participating in the local chapters of this walk.  It has also acquired international fame with Australia and the United States of America starting walkathons along the same theme.
