Pure love would never change; An illustration
Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses )
Many students are with pure love as long as they are in our institute but when they go out, they say their mind changes due to bad company or due to some situations. This is not correct. If truly you have pure love in your heart, it should not change wherever you are. No society or nobody can change you. One example for this. Suppose we draw the picture of a creeper with flowers on a paper. When this is exposed to the wind, however strong the wind may be, only the paper moves but not the creeper drawn on that. Same way, though your mind may shake temporarily due to some bad company, your heart will be steady. It is not possible for anyone to change the love in your heart. So, it is your heart that is to be filled with love but not merely mind. Mind is only a form of your combined thoughts. This will change with the change of your thoughts. So fill your heart with sacred feelings and true Love and keep it safe.
Pure love doesn't beg; An illustration00:05:16
Love is a triangle and it is not afraid of anything. It does not beg anyone. Love loves only for the sake of Love but not for any material thing. So Love is for Love. Love is fearless. It does not beg for anything. It loves just for Love. Such Love with these three qualities is the True Love. Once a king went to a forest for hunting. He was tired and felt thirsty. He saw a small hut at some distance. Expecting someone to be there he went and saw a great person meditating in that place. The king waited there without disturbing the person who is in meditation. After a little while the person got up and asked the king who he is and why he was waiting. The king replied that, “He is the king of that kingdom and having come for hunting and getting tired, he came there to take some rest”. Then that great person gave him some cool water and some fruits. The king was happy. Going back, the king requested that person to go along with him to his kingdom and accept his hospitality. That person being a sage who relinquished everything did not accept king’s invitation. The king pleaded repeatedly and then to make him happy, the sage went with him. Both of them bathed and the king went to the altar in his house and prayed to God as follows. “Oh God! By my fortune, I became the king. But this kingdom is very small. I have to expand this by conquering some other kings. Please bless me”. The sage, hearing this prayer got up suddenly and was leaving. The king saw and asked him, “Why was he leaving without accepting the food he was going to offer”? The sage said “I did not come here to beg from a beggar. You seem to be a beggar asking God for a huge kingdom. I can beg from that God directly if I want. I do not want anything from you”. So one who has pure love for God need not beg. One need not ask God for anything. He knows what each one wants and graces that from time to time.
