July 24, 2010 – Drama by Bal Vikas Children from Tamil Nadu

There was movement near Swami’s Residence at about 3:45 p.m. on July 24. Everyone rushed to their seats and was all sure that it would be one of those darshans when there would be a few empty places in Sai Kulwant Hall. Swami got into the car and turned out of the main gate of the Sai Kulwant Hall. Bhagavan went to the Sri Sathya Sai Super Specialty Hospital. Three elderly devotees were ailing and the Lord in all His Love and compassion had decided to visit them to grant them strength and Grace.

Swami arrived at the hospital and went straight to the CCU. Each of the patients had different complaints but Swami’s treatment for them was the same - love in abundance. Swami gave each of them vibhuti packets and spoke to them in their own tongue - Hindi, Kannada and English to be precise. He told them that they should always be smiling and happy. He also advised their respective doctors on what to do and was against any sort of surgery being performed. Spending twenty minutes with the elderly patients, Swami left from the hospital. The trio was blissful beyond the realm of words! To be blessed by their beloved Guru hours before the dawn of the Guru Poornima day was a Divine blessing indeed.

Swami took a complete darshan round in Sai Kulwant Hall on His return from the hospital. He had a look at the backdrop that had been placed for the drama by devotees from Tamil Nadu entitled, Sai Yugam Prema Yugam.  He arrived on the stage at 5:25 p.m. and asked for the programme to begin. An announcement by former State President, Mr. T. G. Krishnamurthy followed, who briefly introduced the theme of the presentation. Four children dressed as the children of Brahma, came up the stage. They were very cute and Swami smiled the moment He saw them. They had roses in their hands and as Swami accepted the roses He asked them, “Are you Brahmana?” The boy nodded and Swami smiled. Two elders also offered roses to Him. The drama then began.

Lord Brahma, after creating four progenitors, Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanātana, and Sanat Kumāra, gives them a tour comprising of comparative study of their present, explaining in detail corresponding mission that would happen in the times of the Avataric mission in Kali Yuga. And so it was that the Grama Seva Project and Sathya Sai Educare were highlighted in comparison with the social service rendered by Karthaveeryarjuna after he was advised by Lord Dattatreya and the Atma Vidya (knowledge of the Self) that sage Kapila conferred on his mother. The Sathya Sai Avatar was presented as the summum bonnum of all the Avatars to date. The whole presentation was supported by a slide show and also audio clips from Swami’s discourses.

Swami was emotionally involved in the various shlokas and verses that appeared in the drama. At one point, when Swami’s composition that ‘the mouth may have yes and no as its answer but for Sai its always ‘Yes’, ‘Yes’, ‘Yes’ was rendered, Swami almost burst out in half emotion and half laughter. There were also dances interspersed in the presentation.

There was point in the presentation where the physical beauty of our beloved Swami was described. Giant screens had been placed in the hall and so it was a lovely experience for all to see the beautiful form of Swami and at the same time hear the poetic description of the same.

The colourful presentation ended with Lord Krishna's declaration that He would come back in Kali Age as Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The children gathered in the centre and sang out a song glorifying the beautiful age we all live in.

Swami immediately moved down the stage and posed with the children for pictures. He materialized an emerald ring for the student who had played the part of Narada. Swami then moved around the whole stage area and all the participants were thus blessed with close darshan and sparshan of the Lord.

Swami returned to stage and asked for aarthi after speaking a while with the coordinators of the programme. Prasadam was blessed for distribution and Swami retired after the chant for world peace was done.
