Perhaps you think that the devotional singing (Bhajan or Sankeerthan) or service (Seva) that you do is all that is required to ‘become a devotee’. No! These are only sanctifying acts that purify your mind. They are actions (Karma) which elevate you and help you spend your time purposefully. They promote detachment from body consciousness and from objective pleasures. It is because you are encouraged to cultivate this attitude and taste the joy of renunciation, you experience happiness in a sacred place like Prasanthi Nilayam. These moments of bliss (Atmic Bliss) never decline or change. Continue to practice these always. When your goal is to serve the Lord and adore your Beloved, every step and act is a spring of joy, and every moment and opportunity becomes a valuable chance!
