Getting Spiritually Better
Volume 2 Issue 18 Oct 2004 Serial Articles

Bondage means what? It means getting bound by the world, and the attractions in it. OK, one has snapped the ties of worldly bondage by doing Karma and not claiming any reward; one has renounced Karmaphalam. So what? Well, once one has broken the bondage, one becomes eligible for unalloyed Bliss. Bliss is quite unlike worldly pleasure. Whereas worldly pleasure always comes bundled with pain [because it is a part and parcel of the dual world], Bliss being Divine, is Non-dual; it has no opposite. The opposite of pleasure is pain. The opposite exists because pleasure is a part of the dual world. Bliss, on the other hand, belongs to the Non-dual world of God. It has no opposite. It is pure and unalloyed. Therefore, there is no question of pain ever coming behind Bliss.
