Getting Spiritually Better
Volume 2 Issue 18 Oct 2004 Serial Articles

So, in essence:

  • Aspire for the fruit of action or Karmaphalam and you will get the fruit of the world, complete in its duality, i.e., joy and sorrow.
  • Give up your claim to the fruit of action or Karmaphalam and practice Karmaphala Tyagam; you will then get the Divine Fruit, i.e., unalloyed Bliss.

We can at this stage distinguish three kinds of action or Karma.

  1. Karma or action performed with an eye on the fruit.
  2. Karma or action done relinquishing the fruit, i.e., in the spirit of Karmaphala Tyagam.
  3. Karma or action done relinquishing the fruit and as a loving offering to God.
